One extra window does not fit the table. DrikPanchang shows a second slot on 10 February running 03:04 AM to 07:03 AM on 11 February, under Uttara Bhadrapada moving into Revati on Panchami. In practice it merges into the 11 February window, which is why most lists print it as one long stretch.

The five dates every source agrees on

3, 11, 21, 26 and 28 February. If your family follows a strict panchang and you want a date nobody will argue about, these are the five. Each one clears the marriage nakshatra test at Delhi sunrise, avoids the rikta tithis, and falls on a weekday no tradition excludes.

11 February is the pick of them. Revati holds from sunrise to 11:30 PM — a sixteen-hour window with no awkward late-night lagna — and the day is also Vasant Panchami, which many families treat as an abujh muhurat in its own right. Expect it to be booked first in every city.

26 and 28 February are the practical morning dates, both short but clean: Swati until 10:13 AM on the Friday, Anuradha until 01:47 PM on the Sunday. 3 February gives you a morning to lunchtime slot under Mula, and 21 February the narrowest of the five at two hours and twenty-three minutes.

The eight dates only the panchang engines allow

2, 9, 10, 14, 15, 22, 25 and 27 February appear on DrikPanchang, VedicFeed and VedicMatch, but not on the classical-rule list. Three separate mechanisms account for all eight, and none of them is a computation error.

Rikta tithi. Chaturthi, Navami and Chaturdashi are the “empty” lunar days, traditionally excluded for weddings. That removes 9 and 10 February (both Chaturthi) and 14 and 15 February (both Navami) at a stroke, regardless of how good the nakshatra is.

The Tuesday convention. Many north Indian families avoid Mangalvar for the pheras entirely. Dr R.P. Sharma’s list states the rule openly and drops every Tuesday, which takes out 2 and 9 February. DrikPanchang applies no such filter, which is why its counts are always higher.

Sunrise versus any window in the day. The classical list checks the panchang at Delhi sunrise. On 22, 25 and 27 February the marriage nakshatra had not yet begun at sunrise — Uttara Phalguni starts at 11:54 AM, Swati at 09:32 AM, Anuradha at 10:08 PM. A sunrise check rejects those days; a window-scanning engine accepts them.

The rikta tithi rule, in plain English

A tithi is a lunar day — the time the Moon takes to gain twelve degrees on the Sun. There are thirty in a lunar month, fifteen in each paksha, and they run roughly nineteen to twenty-six hours, which is why a tithi rarely lines up with a calendar date.

Three of the fifteen are called rikta, meaning empty or hollow: the fourth (Chaturthi), the ninth (Navami) and the fourteenth (Chaturdashi). Classical muhurta texts set them aside for beginnings of any kind — weddings, griha pravesh, a new business — on the reasoning that what starts on an empty day stays empty.

Modern panchang software does not always apply the rule, and that single choice explains four of February 2027’s thirteen dates. VedicFeed’s own explainer lists the rikta tithis as “strictly avoided” while its calendar publishes 9, 10, 14 and 15 February anyway — an internal contradiction worth knowing about before you quote a page to your parents.

Valentine’s Day 2027: Rohini, but Navami

This is the question the metros will ask. 14 February 2027 is a Sunday, and the nakshatra is Rohini — arguably the single most favoured marriage star in the whole list, the one associated with beauty, growth and settling a home.

The problem is the clock and the tithi. The muhurat window does not open on 14 February at all: DrikPanchang runs it from 04:46 AM to 07:00 AM on 15 February, because Rohini begins in the small hours. By that point the tithi is Navami, a rikta tithi, so the classical list rejects both days.

15 February is the more usable of the pair — Rohini from sunrise at 07:00 AM to 12:33 PM, a Monday, Chandra’s own day. It is still Navami. Families who care about the date more than the tithi take it; families who follow the rikta rule move to 11 or 21 February. Say which camp you are in early, because that argument is easier before the venue deposit than after.

21 February, Magha and the penumbral eclipse

21 February 2027 is one of the five all-source dates, and it also carries a Chandra Grahan. That combination worries people, so here is the detail. DrikPanchang classifies it as an upachchhaya — a penumbral lunar eclipse, where the Moon passes only through Earth’s outer shadow.

Penumbral eclipses are not treated as religiously observed events in the Indian panchang tradition, and no sutak period is reckoned for them. That is why DrikPanchang continues to publish a full marriage muhurat on the day. The window itself, 11:27 AM to 01:50 PM, is broad daylight in any case.

Two hours and twenty-three minutes is tight for a full pheras sequence, so plan backwards from it rather than forwards. If your family avoids eclipse days on principle regardless of type, there are twelve other dates in the month and no shortage of alternatives. Why the closing times match and the opening times do not

Put the four sources side by side and a clear pattern appears. Compare 3 February: DrikPanchang and VedicMatch open at 07:08 AM, VedicFeed at 07:22 AM. All three close at 12:26 PM. On 26 February the gap is nineteen minutes at the start and zero at the end.

The reason is simple. Closing moments are astronomical events — a nakshatra ending, a yoga turning — and they happen at the same instant everywhere. Opening moments are very often just local sunrise, and sunrise moves with longitude and latitude. VedicFeed’s sunrise figures run fourteen to twenty minutes later than the New Delhi sunrise DrikPanchang uses, despite the page saying New Delhi.

The practical rule: trust the closing time, treat any sunrise-based start as approximate, and get your own city’s sunrise before printing cards. One more nuance on tithi labelling. VedicFeed prints 22 February as running to 07:11 AM on the 23rd, DrikPanchang to 06:53 AM. Both are describing the moment the yoga breaks; the two engines simply resolve it a few minutes apart. Differences of that size never change which date you book.

Every date in the table above is a panchang-level clearance. It says the day is fit for weddings in general. It says nothing about your particular pair, and it does not give you an hour.
