AppSapien (“we”, “our”, or “us”) built the Sahita — Vivaha Matching App as a free Android application with optional in-app purchases. This Privacy Policy explains what data is collected, how it is used, and your rights when you use the Sahita app.

2. What Data the App Collects

Data You Enter

To generate kundali charts and compatibility reports, you enter:

  • Name (bride and groom)
  • Date of birth
  • Time of birth
  • Place of birth

This data is stored exclusively on your device using encrypted local storage. It is never transmitted to our servers, never uploaded to any cloud, and never shared with any third party by us.

Data Stored Locally on Your Device

  • Kundali (birth chart) profiles
  • Marriage compatibility match history
  • Credits balance (for premium features)
  • Purchase status (Ad-Free Upgrade)
  • Language and app preferences

Data We Do NOT Collect

We do not collect or store on our servers:

  • Your name, email, or phone number
  • Location data (GPS or network-based)
  • Contacts, camera, or microphone data
  • Device identifiers (by us directly)
  • Financial or payment information
  • Usage analytics or crash reports (by us directly)

3. In-App Purchases

Ad-Free Upgrade

A one-time or subscription purchase that removes all Google AdMob advertisements from the app. After purchase:

  • No ads are displayed in the app
  • AdMob ceases ad-related data collection for your session
  • The upgrade is linked to your Google Play account and can be restored after reinstalling

Credits

Sahita uses a credits system to unlock premium features including detailed compatibility reports, extended match history, and advanced dosha analysis. Credits are purchased in packs via Google Play Billing.

  • Credits balance is stored locally on your device
  • Credits are non-refundable once consumed within the app
  • Unused credits can be restored using the “Restore Purchases” option in the app on the same Google Play account

Billing and Payments

All payments are processed by Google Play Billing. We do not see, store, or process your payment card or bank details. For refunds, contact Google Play support: support.google.com/googleplay/answer/2479637


4. App Permissions

We do not request access to camera, microphone, contacts, location, SMS, call logs, storage, or any other sensitive device data.


5. Third-Party Services

Google AdMob (Free Users Only)

Free users see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob independently collects device identifiers (such as Advertising ID) and usage signals to serve personalised or contextual ads. Users who purchase the Ad-Free Upgrade are not served ads and AdMob does not collect ad-related data for those users.

Google Play Billing

In-app purchases (Ad-Free Upgrade, Credits) are handled by Google Play Billing. All payment processing is managed by Google. We receive confirmation of purchase but no payment details.

Google Fonts

The app loads fonts from Google Fonts servers, which may log your IP address when fonts are fetched.

6. Data Storage and Security

All kundali data, match history, preferences, and credits balance are stored locally on your Android device using encrypted storage:

  • Your data does not leave your device
  • We cannot remotely access, view, or modify your data
  • Your data is not backed up to any cloud service by us
  • Data is encrypted at rest on your device
  • All network communication (for ads and purchases) uses HTTPS encryption

Purchase records (Ad-Free Upgrade, Credits) are managed by Google Play and can be restored via your Google Play account after reinstall.


7. How to Delete Your Data

You are in full control of all data stored by the Sahita app:

  • Delete individual kundali profiles: Open app → tap profile → Delete
  • Clear match history: App Settings → Clear History
  • Clear all app data: Android Settings → Apps → Sahita → Storage → Clear Data (this also resets local credits balance)
  • Delete everything permanently: Uninstall the Sahita app

Note on Credits: Clearing app data removes your local credits balance. You can restore unused credits by tapping “Restore Purchases” in the app after reinstalling, provided you use the same Google Play account.


8. Children’s Privacy

The Sahita app is not intended for children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has used the app and entered personal data, you can clear all data via: Android Settings → Apps → Sahita → Storage → Clear Data.

9. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights regarding your personal data. Since we do not collect or store any personal data on our servers, most data rights (access, deletion, portability) are exercisable directly on your device. However, if you have concerns:

  • GDPR (EU/UK users): You have rights to access, rectification, erasure, and restriction of processing
  • CCPA (California users): You have the right to know, delete, and opt out of sale of personal information (we do not sell personal information)
  • Indian users: We comply with applicable provisions of the Information Technology Act 2000 and DPDP Act 2023
