Sahita is a kundli milan and vivaha matching service built for Hindu families planning a marriage. It exists in two forms: the free calculators on this website, and the Sahita Android app on Google Play.
Who publishes this site
Sahita is published by app sapien, an independent Android developer based in Gulbarga (Kalaburagi), Karnataka, India. The Sahita app has been on Google Play since 2026 and currently holds a 4.6 rating.
We are a small independent publisher, not an astrology consultancy and not a matrimonial agency. We do not sell readings, we do not connect you to astrologers, and we do not run a marriage bureau. We build calculation tools.
What we actually do
Every calculator on this site computes the same way a traditional panchang does, in your browser:
- 36 guna milan (Ashtakoota) — all eight kootas scored individually: Varna, Vashya, Tara, Yoni, Graha Maitri, Gana, Bhakoot and Nadi.
- Dosha checks — Mangal (Kuja) dosha, Nadi dosha and Bhakoot dosha, each with the classical cancellation rules applied rather than ignored.
- Janam kundali — all nine grahas with rashi, degree, bhava and nakshatra, plus the lagna, drawn in both North Indian and South Indian chart styles.
- Single-chart tools — rashi, nakshatra and lagna from date, time and place of birth.
How the calculations work
We use the Lahiri (Chitra Paksha) ayanamsa, the sidereal reference adopted by the Calendar Reform Committee for the Indian national calendar and used by most Indian astrologers. Houses are whole-sign, which is the mainstream Indian convention.
Planetary positions are computed from standard orbital elements and the Moon’s position from a classical lunar series — the same engine that runs inside the Sahita app, ported to JavaScript so it runs on this website without a server.
This matters for two reasons. First, results on the site and in the app agree with each other. Second, a chart built with a different ayanamsa (Raman, KP) or a different house system (Placidus) will legitimately differ from ours. That is a difference of convention, not an error on either side.
Your birth details stay on your device
The calculators run entirely in your browser. Your date, time and place of birth are never uploaded to us, never stored, and never logged. You can disconnect from the internet once a page has loaded and every calculator still works.

Languages
The Sahita app is fully translated into eleven Indian languages: Hindi, English, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, Bengali, Gujarati, Malayalam, Punjabi and Odia. This website publishes in English with regional-language guides for several of those.
What we will not do
Marriage decisions belong to the families making them. We publish scores and chart positions; we do not tell anyone whether to marry. Where a traditional rule is disputed between schools, we say so rather than picking one silently. Where a dosha has a recognised cancellation, we show it rather than leaving a frightening result standing.
